This course provides the students with a deep and comprehensive understanding of the lives of Imam Ali, Imam al-Hasan, and Imam al-Husayn, RadiaAllahu anhum. Focusing on their leadership, spiritual wisdom, and the timeless lessons drawn from their lives. It delves into their political, spiritual, and social roles in the early Islamic state, emphasizing their contributions to Islam and their unwavering commitment to justice, leadership, and faith. The course also examines the larger historical and theological context of the Ahl al-Bayt (the family of the Prophet Muhammad), exploring their legacy, the challenges they faced, and their enduring influence on the Muslim world
Course Objectives:
2. Study the details of Imam Ali’s Khilafah, details of the political and social challenges he faced. His leadership exemplified courage, righteousness, wisdom, faith and unwavering commitment to Justice. His life remains a powerful example of moral integrity, sacrifice, and the struggle for justice
3. Explore the significance of Imam al-Hasan's short-lived Khilafah, his eventual abdication, and the complex political environment of his time.
4. Study the martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn at the Battle of Karbala, its theological, moral, and political implications, and its enduring impact on Islamic history.
5. Examine the philosophical and ethical teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt and their role in shaping Islamic thought, particularly in the areas of justice, leadership, and resistance against oppression.
