Sciences of the Quran is an integral subject connecting the student to Divine revelation and to the primary text of Islam.
This course will explore the descent of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and its reception among the first community. The recitation, memorization, explanation, recording, application and preservation of Quranic content at first instance will all be covered.
The completion of the Prophet's ﷺ duty in delivery of the Quran, the impact of his death, and the extraordinary contribution of succeeding generations will be canvassed.
Apart from the history of the Quran and its compilation, students will also receive an introduction to the diverse range of subjects which are essential to the understanding of the Quran, such as: causes of revelation, stages of revelation, process of revelation, and the miracles of the Quran.
